A unique property along the Boteti River, between the Okavango Delta and the Mkgadikgadi and Nxai Salt Pans – within close range of Botswana’s best game reserves. The stone house is recently thatched with durable Cape Reed (30-40 yr life span) and has a large veranda looking out over the deep Boteti lagoon with normally water all year round and a resident pod of hippos. The large living area has beautiful oak flooring, extending to the cosy kitchen with its outside storeroom, and large doors opening to the veranda and garden. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with shower/bath, opening to a small walled garden with outside shower. On the other side is a second bedroom and a bathroom with shower/bath. The cosy mezzanine can be used as home office and/or extra sleeping space.

From the house, steps lead down to the recently renovated swimming pool, set amidst lush green and featured by two large Jackalberry trees. Further down is a large fire/barbecue pit with benches all around and a large wooden deck from where you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets.  The 2-floor thatched river tent next to the deck has a toilet, bath and basin. There also is an outside shower behind the tent.

Other structures on the property are a shed with adjoining carport, a ‘billtong room’ (alias workshop) and a pump house. Total surface of buildings is 371 m2.

The garden features several large trees such as Jackalberries, Birdplums, Camelthorns and a young Baobab, and has several Bougainvillea and other plants, providing flowers most of the year.

The property runs completely on solar energy, has a solar geyser and a solar-powered borehole pumping into an elevated tank from which the water is gravity-fed to the house, the river tent and the in-ground irrigation system that also runs directly on water pumped from the river.

The property measures 3,353m2, is fenced and has a CCTV and alarm system.
